Drewniana Róża

Things to do

What to do in the Karkonosze Mountains — on site and around Michałowice

Forget everything below 680 m a.s.l. At Drewniana Róża almost everything that matters happens within a hundred metres of your doorstep: the swimming pond, Forest SPA, hammocks and the playground. And when you do want to go out the gate, there are over 30 places nearby, from Szklarka Waterfall (2.4 km) to Śnieżka (14 km), with a map and a route from us.

On site

A whole day without getting in the car

Six reasons why guests at Drewniana Róża usually don't leave until lunchtime — and even then, reluctantly.

Swimming pond

Poland's highest-located swimming pond — 680 m a.s.l. The water is filtered biologically, without a gram of chlorine, so your eyes don't sting and your skin doesn't remember the swim. A separate 40 cm-deep paddling area for the youngest.

How our swimming pond works

Forest SPA

A dry sauna and an infrared sauna, a relaxation room looking straight into the forest, plus massages and signature rituals. In the evening you can have the whole zone to yourselves.

Club room

A little library, a fireplace and an armchair you could sit in through a whole rainy day. A kids' corner with a climbing wall for the little ones, table football for the bigger ones.

Playground

A nature trail, two trampolines, a sandpit and a treehouse. In other words, a day's plan the kids put together themselves, usually right after breakfast.

Hammocks and deck chairs by the pond

Strung between the spruces, right by the water. The most underrated attraction in the whole valley — and the hardest to leave.

Picnic shelter with a campfire

A covered spot for an evening together by the fire. We have wood and firelighters on site — just say the word at reception.

In winter

The frost doesn't close anything here — it just changes it

A winter's day in the valley is shorter, but denser. It starts in the dark and ends in the sauna.

An ice hole in the illuminated pond

Straight from the hot sauna into the icy water, and then back again. In the evening the pond is illuminated — a sight worth getting cold for.

Sledging hill

Right next to the cabins, so you can pop in for a hot cocoa between runs. Sledges are ready on site.

A night hike to watch the sunrise

We set off in the dark to reach the ridge before first light. You'll need your own crampons and a head torch — the rest is just willingness.

Winter animal feeding

A walk with the kids to the feeding rack, with hay and carrots in the backpack. Along the way, tracks in the snow that need no explanation.

Aufguss on Fridays

A Friday session with a towel and essential oils in the dry sauna. Sign up at reception — there are as many places as there are benches.

02Routes from the doorstep

The trails start beyond the gate

We are on the blue trail leading to the Śnieżne Kotły. We've written up six routes that start at Drewniana Róża: a morning loop with the dog, the Drewniak Massif at sunset, a 10 km run along Droga pod Reglami, a full day beneath the Śnieżne Kotły, a trip abroad to the source of the Elbe and cycling routes.
