Children always with an adult
The swimming area is not lifeguarded. Children and people who need care may use the pond only with an adult guardian. The 40 cm paddling area is a good start, but it doesn't replace a parent's watchful eye.
Swimming pond · 680 m a.s.l.
At Drewniana Róża, in Michałowice beneath the Śnieżne Kotły, there is a pond instead of a chlorinated pool: plants and biological filtration clean the water, and spruces stand in place of the walls of a swimming hall. It lies at 680 m a.s.l., higher than any other swimming pond in Poland, and a row of five wooden cabins stands on its shore.
How it works
A swimming pond is a basin tightly sealed off from groundwater, in which nature, not chemistry, cleans the water. Roughly half of its surface is a regeneration zone: shallows planted with aquatic plants that work as a filter. The other half is the swimming area, with a shallow part 0.4 m deep, set apart as a paddling area for children, and a deep part of up to 1.5 m. The water is filtered and regenerated by biological methods, so there is no chlorine in it: your eyes don't sting and your skin doesn't smell of a pool.
A pond like this has its requirements, so we ask for a few things. Wash your whole body before getting in, don't enter the plant zone, and don't throw food or stones from the paths into the water. It's a small price for a swim among the spruces, with a view of the forest. In summer the pond is open daily from 08:00 to 22:00, so your first swim can be before breakfast and your last after sunset.
Just as at a lake in Lower Silesia, you'll find stillness and closeness to the water here — except this is not a lake but a natural swimming pond surrounded by greenery and forest. It's a good place for a morning coffee by the water, family relaxation, a romantic weekend or active leisure. If you're looking for a cabin by a lake in Lower Silesia and what you value most is peace, space and closeness to nature, you'll find it with us — with the Karkonosze within arm's reach.

Good to know
A few rules from the pond's house rules. They keep the water clean and the swimming safe.
The swimming area is not lifeguarded. Children and people who need care may use the pond only with an adult guardian. The 40 cm paddling area is a good start, but it doesn't replace a parent's watchful eye.
Water without chemicals stays clean only if we don't bring anything into it. Before swimming we wash our whole body, and we enter the pond in swimwear (this applies to children over 2 as well).
We don't jump, push anyone into the water or run on the terrace. Glass, sharp objects and alcohol stay outside the pond area.
We don't use the pond with wounds, cuts, a fungal infection or an infectious disease. People in an unstable state of health should consult a doctor before swimming.
Animals don't swim in the swimming pond. On the other side of the cabins a wild pond waits for them, intended precisely for their swimming.
Staying with a dogIn summer you get extra towels for swimming in the pond. Deck chairs wait by the water and in the garden, and hammocks between the spruces.

Forest SPA
The pond is also the best part of the Forest SPA. After a session in the Finnish dry sauna (80–110°C) you step straight into the water — in summer, and even more so in winter, into the ice hole; a traditional bucket of cold water is also there for cooling off. The sauna zone, that is the dry sauna, the infrared sauna and a relaxation room overlooking the forest, is open to guests daily from 15:30 to 18:30 and included in the price of your stay. Just let reception know at least 2 h in advance.
In the evening, from 18:45 to 22:15, you can have the whole zone to yourselves, for a surcharge of 50 zł per hour. For a longer stay, the Forest SPA has 34 massages and forest rituals, from 150 zł. They are booked through Booksy.

The five cabins stand in a row right above the surface of the pond. Each has its own terrace over the water.
A wood-burning fireplace for cooler evenings. We bring a basket of logs to your door.
Air conditioning in all the cabins, a rarity in the mountains.
Each cabin has 50 m² and its own terrace over the water. The row starts with Sosna and ends with Tuja, beyond which the forest begins.
