With a dog to the Karkonosze

Karkonosze with a dog: cabins and apartments where your dog feels at home

At Drewniana Róża, in Michałowice beneath the Śnieżne Kotły, guests are greeted at the gate by our hosts' four dogs. Yours will feel at home here too: we welcome dogs and cats in the apartments in the villa and in the cabins by the pond, for a one-off fee of 50 zł for the whole stay. The forest begins where the row of cabins ends, and the trails towards the Śnieżne Kotły start at your doorstep.

Why here

A place where a dog is not a problem

Drewniana Róża stands at the end of the valley in Michałowice, with no neighbouring buildings, surrounded by spruce forest. For a dog that is more than a pretty view: less noise, more smells to investigate and a walk that starts at the doorstep. On the property dogs are kept on a leash, because other guests, children and the hosts' four dogs live here too: Amok, Roxi, Reksio and Jerry, who usually greet new arrivals at the gate.

The best thing we have for four-legged guests is their own pond. The main swimming pond is for people only, but on the other side of the cabins a wild pond waits, intended for animals to swim in. In summer, after a walk, it's an obligatory stop. Within a few kilometres you have Szklarka Waterfall (2.4 km as the crow flies), Złoty Widok with its viewing platform (2.6 km) and the Śnieżne Kotły (4.7 km).

The rules

Staying with a dog in a nutshell

Everything our house rules say about animals. No asterisks, no small print.

A one-off fee of 50 zł

You pay once for the whole stay, regardless of the number of nights. The animal's stay must be reported when booking.

A dog or a cat

The house rules cover domestic animals: a dog or a cat. If you would like to come with another animal, ask reception before booking.

On a leash on the property

Children, other guests and the hosts' dogs live here, so on the Drewniana Róża grounds your dog is kept on a leash. We also ask you to clean up after it.

The swimming pond is for people only

Animals are not allowed to swim in the swimming pond. For them there is a wild pond on the other side of the cabins.

How the swimming pond works

A SPA without animals

Animals are not allowed in the Forest SPA or in the catering areas.

Responsibility

The owner is responsible for the animal's behaviour and for repairing any damage it causes. It's thanks to this trust that dogs can be welcome here.

Where to stay

A cabin by the forest or an apartment with no stairs?

We take dogs in all eleven units. The cabins by the pond offer a terrace over the water and the forest within arm's reach: Modrzewnik stands a little closer to the wall of trees, and beyond Tuja, the last in the row, the forest has already begun. In the villa the most convenient apartments with a dog are often the ones with no stairs: Świerk, Cedr, Szyszka and Jodła. Every unit has a full kitchenette, and secure parking is on site.

The cabins have a wood-burning fireplace and air conditioning, so they stay cool in summer and warm by the fire in winter. All of them are 50 m² and sleep up to 6 people. The apartments range from 20 to 60 m². If you're not sure which to choose, give us a call: we'll suggest the right place for your dog and your plans for the day.

Chybotek is a group of granite rocks on the south-eastern slopes of the High Ridge of the Jizera Mountains, on the border between Szklarska Poręba Średnia and Szklarska Poręba Dolna. The topmost boulder, about 4 m across, can be set rocking. The rocks lie about 2.6 km from the villa, and old legends of the Walloons about a hidden treasure are linked to the place.
