On days when Ścieżka nad Reglami is closed — usually because of the famous hen running around the Karkonosze, the black grouse — we recommend this route: Drewniana Róża – Wysoki Most – Rozdroże pod Wielkim Szyszakiem – Obniżenie pod Śmielcem – Czarcia Ambona – the traverse of the Łabski Kocioł (Elbe Cirque) – Hala pod Łabskim Szczytem – Schronisko pod Łabskim Szczytem – Wysoki Most – Drewniana Róża. The route is an hour longer and you won't see Śnieżne Stawki, but in return you'll look into the Śnieżne Kotły from above and visit Czarcia Ambona.
